The Agenda for the Future

A call to create an Agenda for the Future of Clermont County emerged in 2012 from a new generation of civic and community leaders. They recognized that while the former countywide strategic vision–Clermont 2001–had produced meaningful progress, the realities facing Clermont County had shifted significantly over the previous 25 years. Population growth, economic change, evolving workforce needs, and new expectations around quality of life demanded a refreshed, forward-looking approach.

The Agenda for the Future initiative was launched with generous support from Duke Energy, establishing a long-term framework to guide collaboration, investment, and decision-making across the county. See the first Agenda for the Future below.

Looking Ahead

In 2025, Connect Clermont assembled leaders serving cross-country organizations and interests, including:

  • Clermont Educational Services Center
  • Clermont Chamber of Commerce
  • Clermont Parks District
  • Clermont Farm Bureau
  • Discover Clermont (CVB)
  • County Economic Development
  • Clermont Library
  • Clermont Senior Services

This collection of community advocates created a State-of-Affairs Report to review the progress made since 2014. Currently, one-on-one interviews and community surveys will help the team outline initiatives for the coming decade.
