A space for good food and conversation.

Amelia — Clermont County is home to many local cafes, but a new addition is already setting itself apart. Cafe Amelia and Bakery opened its doors this fall, offering residents a warm, inviting space designed to bring the community together, while continuing a family legacy decades in the making.

Connect Clermont spoke with owner Bryan Westbrook about his vision for the new business and its connection to his family’s history in the area.

Cafe Amelia and Bakery operates behind the Gift Box store at 6 Amelia–Olive Branch Road. The property has long been a familiar landmark for local residents. Westbrook’s parents opened a pharmacy on the site in 1979 called The Pill Box, which served the community for more than 40 years. In 2024, the pharmacy closed and the front building and the family renamed it to Our Gift Box & Cafe, adding soft-serve ice cream to the menu.

This year, Westbrook purchased the property and expanded the family’s presence by opening Cafe Amelia and Bakery in the building behind the Gift Box. The space, which once housed a construction and flooring company, has been transformed into a charming cafe designed with families and neighbors in mind.

According to Westbrook, the location was intentionally designed to create a cozy, intimate environment where customers can sit, relax, and connect. He envisions Cafe Amelia and Bakery as a casual gathering spot for people of all ages; a place to enjoy baked goods, coffee, and conversation.

Looking ahead, the cafe plans to expand its seating options with a patio area in summer 2026.
