Recent economic setbacks have worsened the financial situation of many low-income families across the United States. Charitable organizations estimate that over 2.2 million American children live without adequate bedding, sleeping most nights on sofas and floors. Sleeping under these conditions can lead to adverse physical and hygiene outcomes.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded to ensure that “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town.” The organization builds and delivers brand-new bunk beds to children aged 3 to 17 and has established over 400 chapters in recent years, many of which serve towns across the Midwest.
The Cincinnati Chapter, which communicates with the Bethel team in Clermont County, is now seeking support as it increases its capacity to serve families in need.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace with Duke EnergyThe group seeks about 4,000 to 5,000 square feet of warehouse space in central Cincinnati. An ideal site should include:
Overhead garage doors for loading and offloading supplies
Good lighting for quality control
Reliable electricity to continue production during natural disasters or blackouts
Water and restroom access to accommodate volunteers and staff
The warehouse also needs to provide a clean, dry, and secure environment. Parking and accessibility for volunteers and outdoor space for bed-building projects would be ideal for this kind of operation.
The Cincinnati chapter must vacate its current warehouse by October 31, 2026, so leaders are seeking any available leads.

The search includes commercial realtors, property owners, developers, business owners, churches, schools, and other organizations that may have warehouse space available. A property owner could potentially help the nonprofit by offering unused or underused space.
Todd Forman, who helps lead the Cincinnati chapter, said community connections could make the difference in finding a new location. Anyone with a potential lead can contact Forman at todd.forman@shpbeds.org or send him a direct message on LinkedIn.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace finished bedDuring the past 2.5 years, the Cincinnati chapter of SHP delivered more than 1,600 beds to children across Greater Cincinnati. Each delivery provides a child with a safe, comfortable place to sleep while giving families an important resource. Many residents in Clermont County have friends and family who may depend on charities like these to support their child’s development.
For volunteers, the warehouse serves as more than a place to store supplies. It gives them a place to gather, build beds, and prepare them for delivery to local children.
Without a new location, the chapter could struggle to maintain the pace of its work. Finding a warehouse would allow volunteers to continue building and delivering beds throughout Greater Cincinnati.
Residents who may have a lead should contact the Greater Cincinnati Office immediately or reach out to the local Bethel office with details.
