August has a funny way of making summer feel like it’s coming to a close and somehow endless all at the same time. Before the school-year routines set in, Clermont County has plenty happening this weekend. Library events, outdoor community gatherings, and more are just a walk away.
Pick a few stops, invite someone along, and make the most of the last stretch of summer.
Planning something for the community? Post it to the Connect Clermont calendar with our quick, three-minute event form. Sharing your event helps neighbors discover new places, meet new people, and find something to do close to home. We can’t wait to see what Clermont County has planned this weekend!

Unwind with a gentle 60-minute stretch and pose session for beginners and experts. The class is open to everyone, regardless of skill level.
You know what they say… when in Rome! Check out a book after the class to take advantage of the library’s friendly and convenient services.

Pattison Park has a little bit of everything to enjoy during your summer afternoon outing. This 45-acre park offers a peaceful place to relax with friends and explore local wildlife.
This Friday, the Clermont County Park District will host a guided hike for outdoorsy visitors.
Take a leisurely walk along the Lodgeside of the park and get to know the area a little better. You’ll find that Pattison Lakeside Shelter provides a convenient setting for picnics, birthday parties, reunions, and other gatherings.

There’s something romantic about gazing up at the full moon in Clermont County. Bring your date for a moonlit canoe adventure along the Ohio River this Friday at Crooked Run Nature Preserve.
The Clermont County Parks District will lead a 0.5-mile paddle upriver while you enjoy the cosmic beauty of the next full moon.
Please note that this paddle is not for beginners, and alcohol is not permitted on the water. Naturalists reserve the right to turn registrants away if intoxicated or under the influence.
Be sure to register for the event ahead of time, but don’t worry about tickets — this one is free. Organizers will provide all the equipment you need, including canoes, paddles, and life jackets.
Ages 12 and up only. The event will pair single canoers together.

The Batavia Farmers Market has been serving the local community since 1999. Your very own neighbors grow most of the fresh produce you’ll find in this diverse outdoor market.
The Farmers Market runs through the end of October, so you still have some time to check out some great seasonal ingredients with friends and family. Vendors accept WIC coupons here, making shopping accessible to everyone.
Still, you don’t want to wait too long. The Market will close once inventory dwindles.

Saturday, August 29, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Not all events in Clermont County cater to young adults. The Union Township branch of the Public Library has created a space for older adults to gather and share snacks, coffee, and tea over great conversation.
The Senior Cafe event is for ages 55+ and is encouraged for those looking to make new friends and get out of the house.

Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There’s so much to do at the library this weekend! Check out the Milford-Miami branch this Saturday for its second Community Book Swap event.
How the Swap works:
• The event is free to attend. Everyone gets one free book (yes, seriously!).
• Bring up to 10 fiction books for adult readers to swap, and please do not bring kids' books or non-fiction books.
• Make sure those good reads are in good condition so everyone takes home something that lasts.
Between 11 and 12, you can enjoy social hour with other guests at the library. Don’t feel like you need to rush to make it at noon. Library staff will replenish the tables with additional books throughout the entire event, so there will be new books to browse all afternoon.
The library will also donate remaining books and save some for future swaps. Special shoutout to the hosts at Milford OH Neighborhood Group and the Milford Book Club.

Saturday, August 29, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The memento mori reminds us of our mortality; the gift and fragility of life. One way to represent memento mori is through stunning picture frames centering the images of spotted lanternflies, magazine clippings, and thrifted items.
Art in the Park will provide these crafting materials on Saturday for a fun and memorable workshop.
Special guest artist Desiré from Decayed Desires will guide you through the process to create beautiful decor and gifts for loved ones.
The event is $5 per person and requires preregistration. Ages 12+ only.

Saturday, August 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
