Labor Day weekend may be over, but late-summer festivities are still happening all over Clermont County! Saturday is stacked with several niche-interest events like Vintage Baseball and Train Fest. And who could forget about the weekly live shows at our favorite bars and restaurants?
Keep your water bottle handy, because the heat isn’t letting up any time soon!

Friday, September 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
It’s about time you cleared out that one corner of your garage. You know the one… with the stack of dusty, dry-rotted tires you haven’t touched in years.
The Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District will take those off your hands during its Scrap Tire Disposal Event on September 12 and 13 at the Clermont County Fairgrounds.
Follow the signs on SR 132 to the drop-off location, and volunteers will guide you to the right place.
Workers will collect disposal fees (cash or check only) before you unload:
$1.00 for each car/SUV/light truck/trailer/ATV tire
$10.00 for each commercial-type vehicle tire (semi-tractor-trailers, dump trucks, etc.)
$20.00 for each tractor tire (must be cut in half if larger than 60″ outside diameter)
Don’t forget to separate any on-rim tires and off-rim tires in advance for ease of disposal. You may be responsible for unloading any tires you bring.
This event is ONLY for Clermont County households, not private companies. Collectors will accept a maximum of 10 tires per resident, except in special circumstances. For additional information, email DSNYDER@ClermontCountyOhio.gov.
The Ohio EPA and Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District are funding this event.

Friday, September 11, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Does your child need something to do after school? Felicity-Franklin’s 21 CCLC YMCA After School Programs are in session!
Students in grades 7-12 can participate in fun activities and educational mentoring Monday through Friday.
Teachers provide homework help, cooking and music clubs, cosmetology, arts and crafts, and fun games like Dungeons and Dragons! The schools even host a field trip every month.
The After School Program is free on Friday. Children can enjoy snacks and dinner during the event. Register online before the semester gets too far along.

Friday, September 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Harmony Hill Vineyards is setting the stage for country artist Tim Snyder this Friday evening. Sip their artisan wines while tasting some great dishes from Nomad Burger Truck. The Vineyard is only open until late Autumn, so plan to visit before it’s too late.
This event is perfect for a casual date night out, or catching up with some old friends. The Vineyard invites both small and large groups with its spacious seating.

Saturday, September 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Have you read about the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings baseball team? As it happens, they are visiting Miami Meadows Park this weekend for a special old-school matchup!
Cheer on the Miami Township GOATS and the City of Milford as they take the plate against these historic champs.
You can also take a break from the game to explore the Veterans Appreciation Car Show, happening right next door.
It’s not too late to register your vintage vehicle for the showing. Contact organizers online or by phone for more information.

Saturday, September 12, starting at 10 a.m.
Calling all train enthusiasts and history buffs!
We’re all celebrating 40 years of railroad history in historic downtown Lebanon! This marks another anniversary of the scenic LM&M Railroad that runs between Lebanon and Hageman Junction.
This two-day event will feature vintage steam train rides, antique vendors, live performances, magicians, and much more.
Admission to activities is totally free, making it perfect for the entire family. Tickets for train rides are available online.

Saturday, September 12, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
If there’s one thing we love about the Clermont County Public Libraries, it’s the many programs and events they host to uplift the community. Visit the Library’s very own mascot, Bowser the dog, for a special meet-and-greet!
The Miami-Township branch invites you to bring your camera for some great photo opportunities. Bowser will also lead a scavenger hunt throughout the Library.
Those who can complete the hunt will earn special prizes like buttons and stickers. This event promotes Clermont County Public Libraries' educational services. Visit the website for more upcoming events and opportunities.

Saturday, September 12, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Gather on Main is a brand-new community celebration right at the center of downtown Milford: a long table stretching three blocks where you can enjoy good food, good music, and exciting games. Chalk art, history tours, and other interactive events will take place throughout the afternoon.
Here are just some of the things you can do while you’re out on the town:
Food from restaurants you already love (including some fun specials just for the day!)
Live music as you stroll block to block.
Crosswalks where you can create community art projects!
Games for kids and adults alike!
Awesome prizes for our games.
A few downtown buildings with stories most people have never heard.
A long stretch of tables where you sit down and meet a new friend.
America 250-Ohio CANOE art project that YOU can be involved with.
And some surprises!
Like many things happening this weekend, this event is free!

Saturday, September 12, starting at 3 p.m.
Our community recognizes American Legion Post 72 for the many public events they put together. This Saturday, join the veterans as they celebrate their 6th Annual Candy Mountain Music Fest.

Saturday, September 12, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
It wouldn’t be a summer weekend without an outdoor workshop hosted by the Clermont Park District. This week, we learn about the 7 species of grasshoppers of Ohio… and just how tasty they are!
That’s right! You and your family can sample delicious cooked grasshoppers — a cherished cuisine of many cultures — during this fun and insightful park outing.
Organizers recommend this event to ages 8+.

Sunday, September 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
New Richmond hosts one of our favorite Farmers Markets each weekend. But it’s no surprise that supplies will begin to dwindle as summer comes to a close. Don’t wait another weekend to explore these incredible vendors.
Fresh produce, artisan crafts, clothing, and other great gifts are available throughout the afternoon. Buying from the local market is a great way to support Clermont County's agricultural workers and contribute to a healthy diet!
If you don’t live near New Richmond, Batavia, Milford, and Anderson will also host their own outdoor markets this weekend.
Read the Connect Clermont newsletter for more events and updates.
